These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Family Matters app and website (the “Platform”), operated by Family Matters Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
2. The Platform
Family Matters provides tools to support co-parenting, including:
- Shared schedules (Care Planner)
- Messaging
- Expense tracking
- Child information management
- Support content and community features
We may update or change features at any time.
We do not guarantee that the Platform will always be available or error-free.
3. Accounts
You must ensure that all information you provide is accurate and up to date.
You are responsible for:
- maintaining the secrity of your account
- keeping login details confidential
- all activity carried out under your account
We may suspend or terminate accounts if these Terms are breached.
4. Use of the Platform
You agree to use Family Matters responsibly and lawfully.
You must not:
- Use the Platform for unlawful purposes
- Upload misleading or false information
- Attempt to access other users’ data without permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform
5. Co-Parenting Data & Responsibility
The Platform allows users to input and manage schedules, communication, expenses and other information (“App Data”).
You acknowledge:
- App Data is user-generated and may not always be accurate
- It is provided for organisation and communication purposes only
- It does not constitute a legal record or agreement
You are solely responsible for:
- verifying any arrangements
- maintaining your own important records where necessary
Family Matters Ltd is not liable for decisions made based on App Data.
6. No Legal Advice
Family Matters does not provide legal, financial or professional advice.
The Platform is not a substitute for a solicitor, mediator or other professional.
You should seek independent advice where required.
7. Children & Permitted Users
Parents or legal guardians may add children and invite other users (e.g. family members or caregivers).
You are responsible for:
- ensuring you have the authority to share any information
- supervising any child’s use of the Platform
- ensuring invited users comply with these Terms
8. Subscriptions & Payments
The Platform may offer paid subscriptions.
- Subscriptions are billed per user (per parent)
- Pricing is displayed within the Platform or App Store
- Payments are handled via third-party providers (e.g. Apple / Google)
Subscription terms (including cancellation and renewal) are governed by the relevant App Store.
9. Availability
We aim to provide a reliable service but:
- we do not guarantee uninterrupted access
- features may change or be withdrawn
- maintenance or updates may affect availability
10. Intellectual Property
All content, branding and technology within Family Matters is owned by or licensed to us.
You may use the Platform for personal use only.
You must not copy, modify or distribute any part of the Platform without permission.
11. User Content
Any content you upload (including messages, posts or data):
- must be accurate and lawful
- must not infringe the rights of others
You grant us a limited licence to use this content for operating and improving the Platform.
We may remove content if it breaches these Terms.
12. Privacy & Data Protection
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss
- We are not responsible for loss arising from reliance on App Data
- We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of user-generated content.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if:
- you breach these Terms
- you misuse the Platform
- payments are not made
You may stop using the Platform at any time.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Continued use of the Platform means you accept any changes.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
