I am a Licensed Psychologist in private practice. I received my Ph.D. in Psychology from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. My previous career was that of a Special Education Teacher and a Learning Disability Specialist. My career as a teacher started in 1972 and as a Licensed Psychologist since 1982. The office is located in St. Louis Park in the Knollwood area, and hours are daytime, evenings, and some weekends. I devote my time among a variety of specialties, including; therapy, psychological evaluations, parenting evaluations and consultation, visitation expediter, and custody studies.

As a THERAPIST my goal is to help individuals, children, families, and groups to recover from the pain, stress, and dysfunction in their present lives. Often our past beliefs and assumptions about the world have effected our present ability to function. Our work together helps clients develop skills, learning strategies, and positive productive coping mechanisms. I respect and honor each client with humanistic and respectful therapy that is individualized for every persons needs. The charge for this service is $100.00 per session.

My client is always the child as I complete PARENTING EVALUATIONS, PARENTING/PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSULTATIONS, VISITATION EXPEDITER, AND CUSTODY STUDIES. My role and goal is to uphold and act in the best interest of the child or children. This allows me to truly be a neutral examiner and helper. I acknowledge that the process of being part of a Custody Study is extremely stressful for everyone involved. My goal is to complete the evaluation with the least amount of trauma for all involved, particularly the children. A Parenting Evaluation contains much of the same information as the custody study, but its purpose is not to help the court make a decision about custody, but to document the parenting strengths and weakness of one or both parents. The charge for this service $150.00 per hour.

The other option that has proven to be very productive in helping parents to design a process for keeping the best interest of the child in mind is to hire a PARENTAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSULTANT. In this role my job is to assist the family as a whole to function in a manner with the least possible disputes. This particular position may include structuring visitation, teaching child development skills to aid parents in understanding why a choice or behavior is or is not developmentally appropriate (example, helping a child reenter their other home without tears or anger, communicating to avoid being the "bad" or unreasonable parent). There may be counseling involved if parents are experiencing a stumbling block in their parenting agreement perhaps due to feelings about the marriage and how they were impacted emotionally. Due to the greater amount of involvement with the entire family, my charge for this service is $150.00 per hour, to be shared by each parent.
